The Tachimbwa Lubilo Women’s Club, located in Nchanga Ward within the Nchanga Constituency of Chingola District, has achieved a remarkable feat through the successful utilisation of the Constituency Development Fund (CDF). By ingeniously leveraging village banking, the club has multiplied a K5000 grant received from the CDF to an impressive K33,000.

Having received the K5000 grant from the CDF in August 2022, the Club, under the Leadership of Chair Lady Christine Mumba, embarked on a series of astute investments across diverse business ventures, including the provision of village banking loans. Ms. Mumba expressed the profound impact that the CDF has had on the local populace, emphasising how it has significantly elevated their lives through the access to loans and grants.

Speaking about the tangible improvements observed, Ms. Mumba highlighted that the funds have not only served as capital for individual endeavors, but they have also generated interest, further enhancing the financial capacity of the women involved. She took the opportunity to extend her commendation to President Hakainde Hichilema for the notable increase in CDF funds, which has unmistakably ushered in positive transformations for women’s clubs nationwide.

The Tachimbwa Lubilo Women’s Club, comprised of 14 dedicated members, initially received the K5000 grant as part of the 2022 CDF disbursement. Since then, their adept management and collective efforts have culminated in the remarkable achievement of K33,000 in funds. The subsequent distribution of the profits, amounting to two thousand kwacha for each member, underscores the club’s collaborative success.

Praising the commendable initiative of the club and its prudent financial management, Member of Parliament for Nchanga, Derricky Chilundika, expressed his enthusiasm. He highlighted that such inspiring success stories serve as catalysts for government endeavors aimed at enhancing the welfare of citizens. Mr. Chilundika particularly lauded the group’s sense of responsibility and ownership, exemplified by their judicious use of the CDF grant.

Mr. Chilundika called upon similar organizations to draw inspiration from the Tachimbwa Lubilo Women’s Club and responsibly utilize the funds entrusted to them through the CDF. Echoing this sentiment, Nchanga Ward Councillor Jones Siluyele, where the club is situated, affirmed that all the clubs within his ward that received grants can be effectively traced. Tachimbwa is among the illustrious clubs in the ward that have scripted a successful CDF story.

Highlighting the broader impact, Mr. Siluyele disclosed that four additional clubs within his jurisdiction have mirrored this success and will soon share their triumphant narratives. As these stories continue to unfold, they stand as testaments to the transformative potential of the CDF in empowering local communities and fostering socioeconomic growth
