Copper Queens’ sign off on a high note

Zambia’s Copper Queens’ conclude their World Cup journey with a win against Costa Rica.

Zambia took control of the match in the first half as Lushomo Mweemba volleyed in the country’s first world cup goal which also is the fastest at the tournament so far, scored in four minutes

Barbra Banda scored through a penalty which made 2- nil before have time.

Costa Rica scored in the second half through Herrera and had another ruled out as off side.

In the closing moments Kundananji sealed the victory for copper queens.

Both Costa Rica and Zambia have been eliminated from the tournament, with Costa Rica exiting bottom of group C while Spain and Japan advance.

Earlier Japan beat Spain 4-0 to finish top of group C.
