Media urged to explain Govt legislative, policy reforms – Tambatamba

Minister of Labour and Social Security, Brenda Tambatamba has called on the Media to help citizens of Zambians to interpreting and understand what Government is doing for the people through the new legislative and policy reforms.

Ms Tambatamba said print media has a particular role to fill the communication gap that the country has experienced for a long time over 10 years.

She said this during a courtesy call paid on her by the Zambia DailyMail Managing Director, Simata Simata in at her office in Lusaka.

Ms Tambatamba explained that print media is vital in the communication sector as it provides a wide range of services such as accountability through referencing and achieving the economic transformational agenda.

She has since appealed to the media to re-dedicate themselves to one of their duties of relevant and factual reporting to enhance productivity and efficiency in Zambia.

Speaking earlier, Mr Simata pledged that Zambia DailyMail will keep serving the Zambian citizens through genuine and accurate reporting, adding that the institution has the obligation to encourage productivity and skills exhibition and to maintain the trust that Zambians continue to have in the company.
