A-grade-nine Pupil of Lions school for the visually impaired at Hillcrest area in Ndola has died after being strike by lightening.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said brief facts are that the victim was visually impaired and was a grade nine pupil at the above-mentioned school.
Mr Mweemba said on March 22, 2023 at around 16:00 hours, the victim was standing under a big tree within the school premises when he was hit by lightning and died instantly.
He said Police rushed to the scene and found the body of the victim lying on the ground.
Mr Mweemba said after physical inspection, the body of the victim had burns on the left side of its body from the left leg up to the chest and his clothes were torned.
The body has since been deposited in Ndola Teaching Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
