A-six- year- old girl has died after being hit by a motor bike in Luangwa District.
Assistant Police Deputy Spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi said that the accident occurred on March 16, 2023 around 11:00 hours along Kamoba road.
Mr Chilaba said preliminary investigations indicate that the accident happened when the pedestrian was crossing the road and in the process was hit by an oncoming motor bike.
He said the victim sustained head injuries and died upon arrival at Luangwa District Hospital.
Mr Chilabi also said involved was Chriswell Tembo 20, of unknown house number of Indeco Compound in Luangwa District who was riding an unregistered motor bike.
He said the body of the deceased is deposited in Luangwa District Hospital Mortuary awaiting Postmortem.
The rider has since been charged with the offence of Causing Death by Dangerous Cycling and is currently detained in police custody awaiting court appearance.
