3 stolen motor vehicles recovered

Police in Kitwe have recovered three motor vehicles which were stolen by unknown people in separate incidents.

The recoveries were confirmed by Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba who said no arrest has been made so far.

Mr Mweemba said a-motor vehicle Toyota Corolla registration  number ACV 5941,chassis AE1145027211,Engine,color pearl valued at K50,000 which was stolen between January 23 and 24, 2023 at 20:00hours and 06:00hours in Mindolo west.

He said the motor vehicle was found abandoned in Lumpuma area near Kasanshi village on February 15, 2023.

The owner of the vehicle Samuel Nkhoma was informed by his relatives who went for business in the area and during the recovery, it was found that a battery and 2 rear tires were stolen.

And in a similar development a motor vehicle Toyota Allion reg AID 3432, Chassis NZTD260-3023948, Engine 1NZ013283 valued at k138, 000 property of John Chanda has been recovered.

Mr Mweemba said the vehicle was reported stolen on February 13, 2022 around 21:00hours outside the yard and was recovered in Kamitondo area where it was abandoned and is now parked at Riverside police station.

He said the car was stolen when the complainant removed the key from the car after parking it but left the engine running.

Others is a Toyota Corolla registration no ABV5337, Chassis No. AE110-5103691, Engine No.5A-C264815 silver in colour valued at K55, 000 property of Mr James Musonda

The motor vehicle was recovered on February 15, 2023 in Luangwa Township were it was abandoned. It was reported stolen on February 13, 2023 around 04:00hours.

The battery and a distributor were stolen.
