By MAIMBO MWEEMBA
Mongu Mayor in Western Province Muyumbana Nyambe says the increased number of Criminals commonly known as junkies is a source of concern as people are living in fear.

Speaking at a Consultative meeting held at Country Lodge Mr Nyambe said that the district is no longer safe to move and walk around after 22:00 hours.

He said that the junkies need to be stopped for peace and sanity to retain to the district.

The Mayor also encouraged residents to be each other’s keeper by uniting.

Mr Nyambe called on parents not to house and protect children if they are found to be Criminals.

He also said that there’s an increased police patrol in the district as one way of curbing the junkies
And a concerned resident Ikafa Musilizo said that the junkies are not found in bars but outside waiting for those leaving bars and night clubs so that they can attack hence closing bars early is not a solution.

Speaking at the same Consultative meeting, Joseph Kabengele said that police usually patrols in main roads but junkies are found in off roads.
