Unknown criminals have stolen three plates of Copper cathodes on a moving truck along Kasumbalesa – Chililabombwe road at the rail crossing.
Matthias Charles 34, a Tanzanian national of Dar es Salaam, a driver for GSM who was driving a truck white in color, horse reg # T-145 DLN and trailer# T -603 DLN reported that unknown criminals jumped onto his moving truck and stole three plates of copper cathodes.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said this happened between Kasumbalesa reload garage and Chililabombwe after the rail cross at around 05:30hrs.
Mr Mweemba said that the driver and his Zambian security escort, started off from Kasumbalesa going to Tanzania with copper cathodes loaded on his truck and when they reached the rail crossing in Chililabombwe, they noticed that the tent on their trailer was loose, and decided to stop to check.
He said after checking that’s when they discovered that three plates were missing.
The matter was then reported at Chililabombwe police station.
In a similar development unknown Criminals have stolen properties worth K10,000 belonging to Nkana Academy College of Education in Ndola.
Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said Nkana academy college of education secretary reported that unknown criminals broke into the building and stole the following property one printer valued at K3,250, 30 reams of paper valued at k2,850 20 boxes of chalk valued at k400.
Other item stolen were four pairs of green curtains valued at k3,500 bringing the total value of stolen property to k10,000.
Mr Mweemba said entry was gained through by damaging the grill door to the building, and the same was used as exit.
