A-36-year-old woman of Kitwes has been arrested for hacking her husband with a hoe after a marital dispute.
Copperbelt Police Commanding officer said Philemon Kasanda 42, and Dorcas Chipoya 36, both Of Zambia Township in Kitwe were having marital problems and are currently on separation.
Mr Mweemba said on 22 January 2023, the husband passed through the house where the wife is currently staying and passed some silly comments against her.
He also said the husband attempted to get one of the children from the wife who got annoyed and a fight broke up.
“She got a hoe and hacked the husband who sustained the said injuries. The victim sustained a deep cut on the head as a hoe is alleged to have been used in the act. The matter was reported to the police and a medical report form was issued. The victim was taken to Kitwe Teaching hospital, where he was treated and discharged,” he said.
Mr Mweemba said an arrest was made on the wife and investigations have been instituted l on the matter.
