60X 50 kg bags of fertilizer stolen in transit

Unknown people have stolen 60 x 50 kg bags of fertilizer from a Lufwanyama based Business Man from a consignment he was transporting.

This happened on December 25, 2022 after a hired truck laden with his fertilizer was involved in a road traffic accident and overturned near Mininga turn-off at Mutwe wa Ng’ombe in Lufwanyama district.

Copperbelt Commanding Officer Paecewell  Mweemba said that Hobson Richard 38,  had hired a DAF truck registration number ACP 7922 to deliver fertilizer to Mininga, Chipupushi, and St. Mary’s area.

Mr Mweemba said the vehicle was being driven by Ben, other names unknown, who was hired to transport 249 x 50Kg bags of fertilizer.

He said unfortunately, as he was transporting the last load to St. Mary’s area, the truck veered off the road and overturned.

Mr Mweemba said It was at that time that villages went to the scene and looted 60 x 50 kg bags of fertilizer valued at ZMW 800.00 each, the total value of property stolen to K48, 000.00.

A docket of the case has been opened and investigations have been instituted.
