Jack n’ Jill employee nabbed for stealing a pair of shoes

An-employee of Jack n’ Jill shop at Mukuba shopping mail in Kitwe has been arrested for allegedly stealing on pair of boys shoes valued at K349.00.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweembe said that on December 28, 2022 around 12:00 hours,  Honest Muzhike the suspect was working in the shop’s stores office and whilst working he did not know that the manager had activated a software for sensors to every box which passes the main entrance.

“He got a boy’s black pair of shoes and put it in the litter to go and throw outside. Upon passing the entrance the sound rang and the manager heard it leading to his apprehension,” he said.

Mr Mweemba said after questioning him he failed to defend himself.

The matter was reported to the police and a docket opened, he has since been detained, and shoes recovered.
