Solwezi Municipal Council would like to thank all Solwezi residents that attended the stakeholders 2023 Budget Consultative meeting held last week Friday.
It is gratifying to note the attendance of representatives from the traditional leadership, Councillors, Civil Society Organizations, Faith Based Organizations, Government Officials and Ward Development Committees, among others.
During the meeting, a number of issues were raised regarding the development of Solwezi district of which His Worship the Mayor Mr Remmy Kalepa, Director Planning Mrs Sandra Mumba (sitting in for Town Clerk), Director Finance Mrs Agness Aongola and Director Engineering Services Eng. Angel Simwaba were on hand to respond and clarify.
Further, submissions for inclusion into the proposed municipal 2023 budget were also made by the Stakeholders whose input is key to the development process in the district.
After input from the stakeholders, the Council budget will now be subjected to the national hearing, Council and finally the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development for approval or adjustment before being in effect.
The objective of the stakeholders budget consultative meeting was to obtain proposals from members of the public on what developmental matters can be included in the proposed 2023 Council budget.
