Opposition MPs walkout on VEEP in Parly cost them allowances

Speaker of National Assembly Nelly Mutti says all the Opposition Members of Parliament who walked out during the Vice President’s question time will not get their seating allowance for today.

Ms Mutti ordered the clerks to take note of the MPs that had walked out of the house and ensure that they do not draw their allowance.

Some Opposition Members of Parliament walked out of Parliament when Ms Mutti stopped Lunte Member of Parliament Mutotwe Kafwaya from asking a follow up question following the Vice President’s response to the Leader of Opposition in Parliament Brian Mundubile.

Mr Mundubile earlier said that government had given contradictory statements regarding the engagement of a private firm to Audit defense wings instead of the Auditor General’s Office.

Meanwhile, Vice President had said that Mr Mundubile did not state the law that was abrogated or not followed when a private film was engaged to audit defense forces and Intelligence Units.
