Konkola Copper Mines Plc (KCM) Provisional Liquidator Celine Nair has urged Konkola Blades Football Club to step up their bid to win promotion back to the Super Division, stating that Management will provide the necessary support for the team to achieve the promotion objective.
Nair said Konkola Blades, as one of Zambia’s pioneers of the organized football league, should aim to return to the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Super Division in the current FAZ National Division One League campaign and then cement their place in the elite league.
Nair told the technical bench and players at Konkola Stadium when she visited the training ground that, “you should keep your eyes on the ball and the prize even as you strive to make your fans and supporters happy. I am urging you to focus on God in order to achieve what you want and do what you do to the best of your ability. You have the strength, courage and wisdom required to win games.”
“Leave us with the worry about where the money will come from as your job is to concentrate on the games and to give results that everyone is looking for,” Ms Nair added.
The Provisional Liquidator told the players that soccer fans and supporters were counting on them to lift the Club back to its former glory days and a household name in Zambian football.
She urged the Konkola Blades ExCo to ensure they provide necessary support to the Konkola Queens women’s team to enable the girls to also achieve success on the pitch.
“As you climb to the top, we will be there cheering you on because we know you can do better. So work hard, entertain us and play that good football, be rest assured all will be well and things are getting better”, Ms Nair emphasized in her address to the Konkola Queens.
