Chingola Council Skills Centres empowered with equipment

Chingola Mayor Johnson Kangombe has handed over machinery equipment to skills training centers in the district the Chingola Municipal Council.

The machinery which includes sewing electric machines and carpentry kits were donated by the workaid to empower men and women through the local authority.

Speaking at the handover ceremony held at the civic centre, Mr Kang’ombe thanked the donors for considering the women in the district.

He said the equipment will not only benefit the women and men in cooperatives but improve machinery and capacity building

Mr Kangombe has implored the beneficiaries to safeguard the donated equipments for the benefit of many.

He also said this donation will help enforce the skills training centers in the district.

Mr Kang’ombe said that empowering local skills training is one way the municipal council is complimenting government’s efforts to alleviate poverty.

Speaking at the same event Nchanga’s Kwacha ward councilor Mimosa Phiri hexpressed gratitude with the donated equipment as it will not benefit men and women but also youths in skills training centers.

Mr Phiri said a lot of youths are in need of skills in his ward and the items donated shall equip skills centers to accommodate more youths for skills training.

A representative of Amano Bunonshi club of Nchanga Skills centre said the equipment will improve their sewing.

Amano Bunonshi also pledged to safeguard the donated machinery to Nchanga skills centre.

The Council Training skills that received the donations are Chiwempala skills centre, Nchanga Youth Development Centre and Chitilukulu Skills Centre.
