Police Officers warned against corruption

Police Service Commission Chairperson, Peter Machungwa has warned that police officers engaging in corrupt practices risk being removed from the Service.

Dr Machungwa says the Commission is working towards ensuring that corruption in the Police Service is eradicated.

He says corrupt elements should be wiped out in order to save the image of the Police Service.

Dr Machungwa said this when he called on Luapula Province Deputy Permanent Secretary, Royd Mwape.

He said the Commission is going round the country to sensitise Police officers on dangers of engaging in corruption.

And Mr Mwape called on the Police Commission to look into the issue of accommodation for police officers in the Region.

He revealed that the province does not have a decent camp for police officers, a situation which has resulted in most of the officers renting houses.

Mr Mwape has also called on the Commission to consider promoting deserving Police officers in the province. ZANIS
