The Independent Broadcasting Authority -IBA- has started engaging the public to raise awareness on broadcasting services and conditions for radio and television licensing.
IBA Board Representative, Jameson Mbale said the authority needs to discuss issues surrounding licensing following complaints from many applicants regarding application procedures.
Prof. MBALE said this in Kabompo when he called on Kabompo District Commissioner, Hubert Chinyanga.
And IBA Director General, Josephine Mapoma said the interaction is meant to bridge the gap between existing media owners and those intending to open broadcasting houses.
And Mr Chinyanga thanked the IBA delegation for visiting the district saying more information will be made available to the general public on broadcasting services.
He said Kabompo has already established a community radio station which is serving as a public participation platform.
