The Zambia Women National Team on Thursday kicked off the 2022 COSAFA Women’s Championship with a 2-0 win over Namibia at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in South Africa.

Zambia captain Barbra Banda registered a brace in the Group B match and was voted player of the match by COSAFA.

Striker Banda’s two goals came in the 3rd and 71st minutes.

Unfortunately, she was unable to continue with the match due to injury and was replaced by debutant Eneless Phiri.

Shepolopolo’s next Group B match will be against Lesotho on 4 September.

Lesotho thumped Eswatini 3-0 in the group opener earlier on Thursday afternoon.
