Seven schools to delay opening

Seven Schools on the Copperbelt, Central and Southern Provinces to open a week after the actual opening day September 5, because they are still being used as GCE examination marking centers.

Education Minister Douglous Syakalima said that the delay is expected not to take longer than Seven days.

Mr Syakalima has appealed to teachers marking to ensure they finish within time so that the affected school re-opens.

He has however, stated that the situation is a normal routine when during the marking of examination

Meanwhile, Mr Syakalima has appealed to recently recruited teachers to report for work at their designated schools early.

He said Government has made all the necessary preparations and salaries have been paid to all of them.

The Minister has added that the new dawn Government has brought on board new and good policies that will bring about Transformation in the education sector.
