Chief Hamusonda of Monze offers land to resettle flood victims

Chief Hamusonde of Monze district has offered Land to government to resettle the last rain season flood victims.

The flood victims were evacuated from Namalyo and other areas to Malundu DMMU Camp in his Chiefdom.

Speaking when Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit National Coordinator Gabriel Pollen called on him at his palace in Bweengwa, Chief Hamusonde said traditional leaders have the mandate to help people in need.

And, Dr Pollen, who also toured the Malundu Camp, assured the internally displaced persons that the government will provide necessary assistance.  ZANIS
