Newly recruited teachers to report for work next term

The over 30,000 newly recruited teachers are expected to report to work in September, which is the 3rd term of the school calendar.

And the Ministry of Education says it will ensure teachers are put on the pay roll as soon as they report to their schools.

Education Permanent Secretary in charge of Technical Services, Joel Kamoko said the teachers will be expected to report to the respective districts on July 25, 2022 for orientation before they can start teaching in the third term.

Mr Kamoko said that as schools re-open for the third term, all teachers must be available to start work.

He has urged school managers and District Education Board Secretaries to put in place a meaningful programme of orientation so that the new teachers can carry out their mandate. ZNBC
