2 ex-convicts charged with 30 offences

Two ex-convicts have been arrested and charged for 30 different counts of offences, among them forgery, personating a public officer and obtaining good by false pretense.

Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said Christopher Mwamba 38, and Alexander Chipasha 36 both Lusaka residents are ex-convicts.

Mr Hamoonga said they are charged with 11counts of Forgery, 14 counts of personating a Public Officer and five counts of Obtaining Goods by False Pretenses and the total counts stand at thirty.

He said the duo was apprehended on May18,2022 at 15;00hrs in Chudleigh.

Mr Hamoonga said brief facts are that the duo were going round to private schools and other places posing as officials from the Ministry of General Education as well as Chibombo District Council whilst displaying forged identity cards and getting away with money from some schools and other places.

The Suspects will appear in court soon.
