Zambia qualifies for Women’s World Cup

The Zambia Women National Team qualified to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup after reaching the semifinals of the Africa Cup on Wednesday night in Morocco

Shepolopolo advanced to the semifinals of the Women’s Africa Cup after edging Senegal 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in extra time in the first quarterfinal match on Wednesday night.

Semifinalists at the Africa Cup are earning automatic qualification to the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Goalkeeper Hazel Nali was the heroine of the penalty shootout after saving one and scoring the winning kick for Zambia.

Zambia came from behind to beat Senegal.

Senegal led in the 60th minute when unmarked Nguenar Ndiaye headed in a free kick near the post.

Striker Avell Chitundu equalised for Zambia after 69 minutes.
