The Zambia women national football team will this evening lock horns with Senegal in the Quarter final of the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup.
The Copper Queens will be looking to secure automatic qualification to the 2023 FIFA Women’s world cup.
The Match kicks off at 19:00 hours Central African time.
On the way to the quarter-finals, the Copper Queens were unbeaten in Group B registering a draw in their opener with Cameroon before consecutive wins against Tunisia and Togo to top the group with seven points.
Senegal, on the other hand were second best to Morocco after finishing Group A on six points.
This will be the Copper Queens’ third meeting with a West African opposition at this tournament.
With two goals, an assist and a Player of the Match award in her name, Skipper Grace Chanda will lead the Copper Queens attack.
And Coach Bruce Mwape said the team will not take today’s quarter final clash against Senegal lightly.
Mwape says the game plan is for the team to be cautious and create a lot of solid chances as they will be up against a strong side.
Speaking during a pre-match press conference, Mwape said the team is ready for Senegal adding that they will not relax in their approach toward the game.
And, Goalkeeper Hazel Nali said the team is ready as they have prepared well for the clash.
