Rangers extend Tembo’s contract

By MAIMBO MWEEMBA
Brave Nchanga Rangers Football Club has handed a new two year contract extension to Robert Tembo, in a mark of confidence by the Club’s ExCo.

Club Vice President Shapi Shachinda said Tembo lifted the mood at Nchanga Stadium, after the Club spent three seasons playing in the Eden University FAZ National Division One League.

Tembo will be with Nchanga Rangers until July 2024 and has an option to extend his contract afterwards.

The Contract renewal was signed on July, 7, 2022 by Vice President Shapi Shachinda on behalf of the Club and Tembo, with the Club Secretary Emmanuel Simbeye and ExCo Technical Director Peter Sakala witnessing the signing of the contract extension.

“The Club has every confidence in the Head Coach and we believe we will achieve greater things together. Our objective to return to the Super Division will be followed up by ensuring that we cement our stay in the top league on our return and then begin to dream bigger by seeking to win something with the Head Coach and his team in the 2023/2024 season,” he said.

Shachinda said that Rangers have signed Justin Daka a defender/holding midfielder and Andrew Phiri as a right back, both from Kafue Celtic Football Club.

He said the Club is in talks with some Super Division Clubs to add some reinforcements and announcements will be made soon when negotiations have been concluded.

“We are making frantic efforts to bring in additional reinforcements. The market is quite dynamic and our supporters and fans should be patient until we have firmly concluded negotiations for some of the reinforcements we are pursuing,” he said.
