Kitwe man arrested for sexually abusing daughters

A 38-year-old man of Kitwe has been arrested for allegedly having sexually abused his two daughters ages between 12 and 15.

One of the victims is believed to be pregnant after medical examination was carried out on the two girls.

Speaking in a statement, Zambia Police deputy Spokesperson Danny Mwale said the suspect whose names have been withheld is alleged to have been sexually abusing his two daughters ages between 12 and 15.

The incident occurred on unknown dates and time, but between 2021 and June 10, this year at Kaloko farming block along the Ndola-Kitwe dual carriage.

“Police moved in after receiving a tip-off from members of the community that the two girls were allegedly being sexually abused by their father. It is alleged that their father used to forcibly have canal knowledge with the girls in their house at night when everyone including his wife were sleeping. He would sneak in their room and have canal knowledge with both of them on different occasions,” he said.

Mr Mwale said that after medical examination, It was discovered that the older one was pregnant and the suspect was arrested and is currently detained in Police custody.

He also said police instituted investigations and managed to retrieve the two girls.
