The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) has adjusted upward the prices of Petrol by 80 Ngwee per liter.

Speaking at the monthly review of Fuel Prices at a press briefing in Lusaka yesterday,ERB Board Chairperson Raynolds Bowa said the prices of Diesel and Kerosine will remain the same at 25 kwacha 64 ngwee and 18 kwacha and 76 Ngwee respectively.

Mr Bowa also said the rise in petrol prices is due to the rise in season demand for the commodity in Europe.

He said the appreciating of the Kwacha by 2 percent against the United States dollar also had an effect.

Mr Bowa says Petrol which was at 24 Kwacha 15 Ngwee will now be bought at K24.95 Ngwee.

He said the fuel prices are volatile hence the need for the monthly review of fuel if both consumers and customers are to be protected, stating that at the moment the monthly review is the best.
