Kalamba ceremony set for August 27

The Kulamba Traditional Ceremony of the Chewa people of Zambia, Malawi and Mozambique will take place this year on August 27, 2022.

Chewa Heritage Foundation Member Reuben Kamanga has confirmed in an interview that the ceremony will take place at Mkaika in Katete District, Eastern Province.

Mr Kamanga has since urged all those wishing to attend the ceremony to ensure they get vaccinated against COVID-19.

He said this year’s ceremony will be interesting and unique, having not taken place the last two years owing to the outbreak of Covid- 19.
