Sesheke man slits ex-wife’s throat

A 22-year-old man of Sesheke in Western province has allegedly slit the throat of his estranged wife’s lover.

Western Province Acting Commanding Officer Fwambo Siame said Lubinda Lubinda is alleged to have stabbed to death Pelekelo Matepeta aged 37 in the neck upon suspicion that he was having an affair with his ex-wife.

Speaking in a statement, Mr Siame confirmed that incident happened on Monday at around 21:00 hours in Katima Mulilo area.

“Pelekelo Kwelana reported on behalf of the state that his uncle Pelekelo Matepeta aged 37 of same abode was murdered by Lubinda Lubinda aged 22 .Facts are that the suspect allegedly suspected the now deceased of having an fair with the ex-wife (name withheld),” he said.

He said that the victim sustained a deep wound on the left side of the neck and a knife is alleged to have been used in the act.

“The body was deposited in Yeta District Hospital Mortuary awaiting postmortem and the suspect has since been arrested,” he said.
