Nakacinda granted bail

Patriotic Front (PF) Member of Central Committee and Information and Publicity Chairperson, Raphael Nakachinda has been granted bail.

The bail is worthy 25 thousand kwacha in his own cognizance with three working sureties at 100, 000 each in their own cognizance and one of them should be based in Solwezi.

This was after he appeared and taken plea before Solwezi Principal Resident Magistrate, Tamala Kakusa in the matter for allegedly defaming President Hakainde Hichilema.

Recently Mr Nakacinda was arrested for issuing tribal remarks against the Tonga speaking people when he appeared on a radio program a fortnight days ago.

In the defamation case the accused Mr Nakacinda has been granted bail Mr Nakacinda when appeared for plea he denied defaming the President.

In the second count, the court could not proceed as they are still waiting for consent from the Director Public Prosecution DPP to prosecute the matter.

This was disclosed by his defence Lawyer Noel Simwanza to journalists shortly after a court session.

Mr Nakachinda is on May 31st, 2022 expected to appear for mention at Solwezi Magistrate court and the commencement of trials on May 8th 2022 before principal resident magistrate Tamala Kakusa in Solwezi.
