Govt to build modern in W/province

By MAIMBO MWEEMBA
Government says it will build a provincial modern hospital in North-Western Province.

Health Minister Sylvia Masebo says this is because the delivery of health services is below standards in the province.

Speaking when she called on Chief Mumena and Senior Chief Mukumbi in Kalumbila District, the Minister said that the Government will build a provincial hospital, which meets the needs of the people in the during its tenure in office.

Ms Masebo told the two traditional leaders that the health services currently being provided by Solwezi General Hospital are below standard, an indication that government needs to triple its efforts.

“We call upon the public to be patient as government works on improving the delivery of health services in the country, because President Hichilema’s government remains committed to fulfilling election campaign promises,” she said.

And, Chief Mumena said government’s plan to build a new hospital in North Western Province is exciting.

He said Solwezi General Hospital is an old facility which was built in 1975 and has reached its limit.

Chief Mumena also said that Solwezi General Hospital is beyond repair and that what is needed is a new hospital.

He also called on the cooperating partners to supplement government’s efforts in health service delivery.
