Solwezi Municipal Council Acting Chief Community Development Officer Annette Nyoni has urged Orphanage owners in the district to register their orphanages to enable them have access to Government support.
Ms Nyoni emphasized the need for the Orphanage Proprietors to formalize the institution with the necessary authorities in order for the orphanages to benefit from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
She said that Government is ready to support institutions that mean well for the people and CDF is a fund which cooperatives and initiatives like managing an orphanage can contribute to development in the district.
She was speaking during the observing of the International Good Deeds Day.
Charity Centre For Children and Youth Development in collaboration with Family Development Initiative and Solwezi Municipal Council undertook a cleaning exercise of Luwi Lwa nzambi Orphanage in Tumvwanganai Ward.
The Acting Chief Community Development Officer also called on other stakeholders to come on board and support the Luwi Lwa Nzambi Founder by improving the standards of living for the children at the orphanage.
