Man committees suicide over Nsima

An -18- year-old Man of Mwinilunga has committed suicide by hanging himself to a tree after he found that his mother had not left Nsima for him.

North Western Provincial Police commanding officer Fred Mulenga confirmed that Ackwell Kaumba 18, of Makayi village committed suicide by hanging himself to a tree at a nearby bush which is about 100 meters away from his village.

Dr Mulenga said facts of the matter are that on April 9, 22 Ackwell came back home from playing around 18:00 hours and found his mother had not left Nshima for him which angered him.

He said the victim left in anger and told his mother that he had gone to kill himself, who tried to stop him but to no avail.

Dr Mulenga said the incident occurred between April 9, 22 around 18:00 hours and April 10, 22 around 0900 hours at Makayi village in Mwinilunga District.

He said that Police visited the scene and found the body of the deceased hanging on a tree about 2 meters from the ground and after physical inspections no physical injuries were seen.

He was found hanging on a tree using his jean trousers and the relatives to the deceased have decided to burry as no foul play was suspected.
