Green Economy and Environment Minister Collin Nzovu says the New Dawn Administration is making efforts to formalise the export of MUKULA logs and other indigenous timber products.
Mr Nzovu said the country has for a long time been robbed of opportunities to earn revenue from the timber industry due to smuggling and other illegal activities.
He said the Government is tightening measures to halt the smuggling of Mukula logs and other indigenous timber products.
Mr Nzovu said this in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka.
Meanwhile Mr Nzovu said his ministry is committed to roll out afforestation in all parts of the country.
He said the move will ensure the expansion of the timber industry.
