Kitwe City Council has dismissed speculations that it has not received the allocation for 2022 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for Kanfisa Constituency.
KCC Public Relations Manager Chola Mwamba contrary to the speculations, the local authority received K5, 164,102 per constituency and a further K634,592.47 per constituency by Friday 1st April 2022 in addition to the K635,000 received earlier for secondary school ( boarding ) bursary.
“We have received a total of K6, 433,694.47 for each of the five constituencies in Kitwe for the 2022 first quarter CDF and no constituency has been omitted.” She said.
Ms Chola said the Local Authority would urge the CDF committees to expedite the selection process of projects for Minister’s approval to ensure early start of project implementation.
She said all the WDCs have been reminded that , the district’s absorption capacity of the funds received depends on the timely submission of proposals by WDCS and timely approval of projects by CDFCS which facilitate timely approval of implementation of projects by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development.
