CDF is for enhancement of communities’ development

Chingola Town Clerk Kabombo Mutakela says that the Constituency Development Fund should be utilized in a proper manner that will improve the lives of the communities.

Mr Mutakela said that the guidelines for the fund tell the vision Government has to improve the lives of the people in communities and remove poverty in households.

The TC was speaking at a Business Forum organized by the Chingola Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) last Friday under the ‘Theme’ Enhanced constituency Fund, the means for local Government to accelerate district development and entrepreneur empowerment in liaison with CCCI’.

He said that the business community should also come on board and help government on the utilization of this money to improve people’s lives.

Mr Mutakela said that CDF has also been increased so that people can benefits from improved service delivery by the Local Authority.

He said people should take advantage of this opportunity to improve their ware fare and alleviate poverty.

The TC outlined the guidelines for CDF and gave an overview of what the people need to do and those eligible for CDF as it is not for everyone.

The business forum attracted a lot of questions from the business community as their wanted to know the eligibility and acquiring process of the fund.

And CCCI President Freddie Musonda said that the Chamber will always ensure to find opportunities that enhance business opportunities to the business community.

Mr Musonda said that the chamber is pushing for all business activities to be done through the chamber so that all business houses are included even small business.
