The recent spate of suicides in the Country has troubled the Saved Dreamlife foundation ( SDF).
Executive Director Susan Chapala said her organization promotes mental health in Zambia and campaigns against suicides hence the that the nation has in the recent past witnessed incidences of suicide even among childrens.
Ms Chapala said the information on the ground shows that most of the adults committing suicide are doing so after failing to pay back and others due to marital problems .
She said while some people may claim that these increased cases of suicides could be spiritual but mostly due to social and economic distresses.
Ms Chapala has called on the Ministries of Health ,Community Development and the Ministry of Information to wage a national campaign against suicides and another campaign for mental health.
She said the church and traditional leaders will also be critical in positively influencing Zambians against claiming own lives.
