Chipoka Challenges Mimbula mine to employ Locals

By ALICE NACHILEMBE
Chingola Member of Parliament Chipoka Mulenga, has Challenged Mimbula Mine resources to give Chingola people priority as they employ workers.

Mr Mulenga said that the people around Chingola should benefit from the resources not only outsiders.

He was speaking when he met with management after he received complaints from residents that they are being left out.

Mr Mulenga, who is also trade and Commerce Minister, urged Management to ensure that the people of Chingola benefit from Mimbula Mine by getting employment.

He said that if the people of Chingola don’t benefit then it will be them to go against the mine no matter how they try to look good in the face of the government.

“We are not saying you should compromise on standards, but people should benefit from the resources.Give the people of Chingola first and if they is no one from Chingola with the particular skill then consider outsiders,” he concluded.
