Mulundika accorded state funeral

President Hakainde Hichilema, has accorded Former Freedom Fighter Christine Mulundika a State Funeral.
And President Hichilema is saddened by the death of Mrs Mulundika and has extended condolences to the bereaved family.
President Hichilema has also declared a three-day period of National Mourning in honour of Mrs Mulundika for her contribution to the freedom struggle and national development.
The three-day period of National Mourning will be observed from Wednesday, 17th to Saturday, 19th March, 2022 from 06:00 hours to 18:00 hours during which time all flags will fly at half-mast and programmes of entertainment nature should be cancelled or postponed.
Mrs Mulundika, 80, died in Lusaka on Sunday, 13th March, 2022 at her residence in Northmead.
The Former Freedom Fighter is among the few gallant women that contributed to the independence struggle of the country at a time when it was difficult to do so.
He said burial will be preceded by a Funeral Church Service at the St Ignatius Catholic Church at 10:00 hours.
