Dear Editor
The cry by PF’s Edwin Lifwekelo and other political players that President Hakainde Hichilema’s refusal to shift to State House costing the nation is shocking, especially coming from someone holding such a high profile political office.
Being a politician, I thought by now Lifwekelo and others know that the presidency is handled by a system and that a president does not handle himself.
The late shifting to state house is actually common knowledge which is in public domain for even primary school pupils to know that every time a new President takes over, state house is always renovated, refurbished and also security cleared. Have all these been done? No!
Why are you so much bothered that President Hakainde Hichilema shifts to state house now? Have you been told or informed by the Ministries in charge of renovations that the renovations have been completed and that State House is now ready for occupancy but the President is refusing?
I feel let us not take political politics to such a mediocrity level but respect and safeguard the presidency. It is true yes that its costly but at what cost when there is no option?
Finally, common sense should also prevail. This is a person whose ascendancy to that office was sworn not only by you but most of your team that it will not happen over their dead bodies. So given that tip, you think someone who was so much hatred to the point of even informing the nation that he will be arrested just after elections would just jump into that bed without the clearance from security team? Never.
It is high time politicians started bringing out issues with solutions than to just make headlines.
President Hakainde Hichilema has not refused to shift to State House because he actually has no right to do so, so stop misleading yourselves.
