Woman killed by Crocodile in Manyinga

A-39-year-old woman of Mayinga district has been attacked and killed by a Crocodile when she went to fetch water at Manyinga river in Chief Sikufele’s village.

North Western Province Acting commanding officer Fred Mulenga said the woman identified as Memory Chipoya went to wash some plates, fetch water and do laundry activities normally done at the river, but unfortunately she met her fate.

Dr Mulenga said the body of Ms Chipoya was retrieved from Manyinga River near Kakoma Village which is about One kilometer away from the point where she was attacked.

He said that she sustained a broken left knee and her body has since been deposited at Loloma Mission hospital awaiting burial as no foul play is suspected.
