International women’s day which falls annually on 8th March is an oppotune time for everyone to reflect on and celebrate the strides made by women to make the world a better place for all to thrive in. This year the global is marking the day under the Theme ‘Gender Equity Today for sustainable tomorrow.
On this special occasion, Management at Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) and its subsidiaries, the Konkola Mineral Resources Limited and smelterCo Limited recognises and appreciates the important role our female employees play in the Covid-19-fight creating a safe work environment and overall sustainability of the company. Women have the tenacity and nurturing ability that every organisation requires to be successful.
Management will continue to create equal opportunities and inclusive platforms for women to grow and achieve their full potential and ultimately contribute positively to the company and the whole country.
As KCM moves towards achieving the set 7000+tonnes monthly production target, we urge our female employees to take aleading role in this path and apply themselves to the best of their abilities. with focus on safety, continuous improvement and teamwork, it will be possible to achieve beyond the target.
