Kitwe man hangs self, after business collapsed

A-42-year-old man of Kitwe has committed suicide by hanging himself with a seatbelt on a tree, after his business collapsed and shylock grabbed his household goods.

Barry Chanda of house number MN 265 Mukuba Natwange a contractor hanged himself on a tree along Kitwe Kalulushi road after Mindolo dam turn off.

Copperbelt Acting Commanding Officer Tresfold Kasale confirmed the development to The Independent Observer that Mr Chanda was found hanging at a distance of 2.5metres with a seat belt he cut from his car BCB 5646 Toyota RAV4 which was found parked beside the road.

Mr Kasale said information obtained from his wife Dorica Kalundo is that her husband has been planning to kill himself after his business collapsed and had his household goods grabbed from him by the Shylock and other court issues.

He said that his office together with Kitwe Central Police has picked a body of Mr Chanda and currently deposited in Kitwe Teaching hospital awaiting postmortem.
