Mob justice kills Solwezi man

A mob in North Western Province has killed a- 25-year-old man identified as Stallion Mumba of Kalumbila District after he and his friends robbed a local business man.

This happened after Mumba and two others attacked and robbed a local businessman identified as Muhammad Hassan.

North Western police Acting Commanding Fred Mulenga said Mumba was rescued from the hands of the angry mob but had multiple body injuries caused by the heavy beatings and was pronounced dead upon arrival at Solwezi General Hosiptal.

Dr Mulenga said that facts of the matter that on February 21, 2022 around 09:00hrs at Petroda Filling Mumba in the company of two others robbed and attacked business man Muhammad Hassan at his company.

“The deceased Stallon Mumba together with the other two unknown suspects and whilst Armed with 01 by Taurus Pistol Serial Number ABJ900034 black in colour loaded with 9mm Ammunitions attacked and Robbed Muhammad Hassan aged 41 and stole from him Company,” he said.

The Three suspects allegedly stole money amounting to K160, 000 after shooting Mr Hassan twice in the Chest.

Mr Hassan sustained bullet wounds on left shoulder blade and right Limb.

And Mr Mulenga said that the alert members of the public managed to recover a Taurus pistol from Mumba after he was beaten.

Mr Mumba’s body has been deposited in the Mortuary awaiting identification from the relatives.
