Kamwala Ward Councillor Mainda Simataa has reported former Kabwata Member of Parliament Given Lubinda to the Anti-Corruption Commission for being in possession of community property (Kamwala Play Park) reasonably believed to have been corruptly acquired.
Mr Simataa also reported Andrew Lwenje the Chairman of Given Lubinda Foundation, who is also a teacher at Kamwala High School.
Speaking to the media after submitting the dossier, Mr Simataa and Malama urged the ACC to expedite investigations.
“We hope for a speedy and favorable outcome whereby the play park could be given back to the community to whom it rightly belongs,” he said.
And a Kamwala resident Masiye Milanzi said that residnets of Kamwala are determined to get their property, so that it can be used as recreation and training skills youths development.
Mr Simataa was accompanied by UPND Alliance partner, Secretary General for the RPP Stanley Malama when he presented a dossier of documents to ACC which includes a 2009 site map indicating that the property was originally earmarked as a play park.
A petition written to Lusaka City Council by the residents of Kamwala on May, 10, 2017 to stop Mr Lubinda from taking over the property, was also presented as well as a 13 year lease agreement given to the Given Lubinda Foundation by LCC dated 25 March 2020.
