Govt won’t interfere in black mountain operations-Mines Minister

Mines and Minerals Minister Paul Kabuswe says that operations at the black mountain in Kitwe should run smoothly without political tension or confusion.

Mr Kabuswe said that the slug’s earnings belong to the communities around and not a group of people.

He said that Government has started engaging other mining Firms to release some of their slug dumps to people within the communities for operations.

The Minister was speaking to the youths who went to give solidarity regarding Governments decision to handover a portion of the black Mountain to the youths.

Mr Kabuswe said that Government will not interfere in the operations of the black mountain instead it will impose sanctions should those involved put to waste proceeds of the empowerment.

And Zambia National Youth Think tank Executive Director Mumba Tebulu has applauded Government for handing over the Slug to the local people, the move will create jobs.
