Govt helps resolve royal land dispute

Government and the Mungule Royal Establishment have resolved to end the long standing land dispute in the former Kamaila forest number 49 of Chibombo District.

Both Parties agreed that the matter which has been in court for the past seven years be settled outside court for the betterment of the people.

This was during a meeting held at Chieftaincy Mungule’s Palace.

And, Lands and Natural Resources Minister Elijah Muchima said land disputes obstruct development hence the need to resolve them so that people can lead normal lives.

“President Hichilema’s Government wants to see to it that all land wrangles are expeditiously dealt with to ensure peace and unity in various chiefdoms,” he said.

And Chieftainess Mungule said she is happy with Government’s commitment over the land dispute which has dragged for many years.

Minister of lands was accompanied by Central Province Minister Credo Najuwa

The two parties agreed to constitute council comprising lawyers from ministries of Lands and Justice, lawyer representing the Royal Establishment who is also Katombora Member of Parliament Clement Andeleki.
