Solwezi Municipal Council has cropped Twenty-three (23) stray dogs in the just ended dog elimination exercise.
During the exercise, it was observed that some households keep their dogs in open areas without confining them hence leading to them straying.
It was also observed that some households vaccinate thier dogs but do not register them with the Council as required by law.
Council Health Inspectors who were on the ground seized the opportunity to sensitise members of the public on the need to vaccinate and register their dogs with the Council.
The Local Authority will conduct the dog elimination exercise next month on dates to be communicated to ensure that there are no stray dogs in the district posing a danger to members of the public.
