By MAIMBO MWEEMBA
Government has released K2.8m for the vulnerable and people living with disabilities for Chinsali District in Muchinga Province under the Social Cash Transfer program.

Muchinga Province Minister Henry Sikazwe said there is need for proper utilization of social cash transfer funds among beneficiaries.

Mr Sikazwe was speaking during flag off of payment of 8,485 beneficiary households in the district.

He said that the program aims at reducing extreme poverty in order to enhance the living standards of the poor and vulnerable but viable households.

Mr Sikazwe said that Government still remains steadfast and has continued with the social cash transfer program.

Seven hundred and 59 beneficiary households from Seedfarm, Kabuta and Chandamali areas have already been paid.

And Chinsali District Social Welfare Officer, Iness Mulenga said the K2.8 disbursed is for November and December 2021.

She said the delay in paying the beneficiaries their dues for two months was because of the dissolution of community welfare assistance committees.
