Big-spenders Kansanshi Dynamos have parted ways with head coach Tenant Chilumba and his assistant Happy Sichiloko barely six months in charge.
The duo were appointed in July 2021 on a two year contract but have been fired after a string of poor results.
Chilumba leaves Kansanshi in the relegation zone with 20 points.
Kansanshi has gone three matches without a win with the latest defeat coming at the hands of Red Arrows.
Arrows last Saturday butchered Kansanshi 5-0 in Solwezi in what was Chilumba’s last game in-charge.
Kansanshi announced the departure of Chilumba and Sichikolo in a statement issued yesterday by club secretary Francis Malama.
“We wish to confirm that Chilumba has left the team on mutual separation. We further wish to confirm that Sichiloko has also left the team. Meanwhile the contracts of assistant coach John Munkonje, goalkeeper coach Kaunda Chilubanama and assistant physical trainer Kelvin Sichinga will not be renewed,” read the statement in part.
Malama said physical trainer Donwell Yobe will act as head coach and will be assisted by youth team coaches Elijah Phiri, Nasha Kaaya and Mwape Kasunka.
Kansanshi have been busy in the transfer market roping in Jesse Were from Zesco United, Marvin Jere from Lusaka Dynamos and Baba Basile from Zanaco.
The club has also signed Congolese forward Djo Ntambwe.
Chilumba alongside Sichikola joined Kansanshi after parting ways with Ndola side Forest Rangers in May 2021.
Chilumba, fondly known as TC has also coached Power Dynamos, NAPSA Stars, Kabwe Warriors and had a stint in Zimbabwe.
